Installing the Exocet Hood and AeroCatch Hood Pins
We finally picked up the Exocet hood from storage and we can finally complete the look of the car. To secure the hood to the frame, we install AeroCatch Hood Pins on the fiberglass shell.
After carefully measuring and marking the exact location of where we want the hood pin assembly to go, we use a hole saw drill bit to cut two precise holes for the AeroCatch to fit through.
Then we use a jigsaw to cut the material out between the holes to complete the opening.
Once the hole is cut out, we can screw the AeroCatch in place.
The Exocet fortunately has convenient hood pin mounting brackets pre-welded to the frame.
The car is finally looking like a real track car!
